JAWAI

This is the ancient land of Leopards. For centuries the masters of the rosettes have thrived here along-side humans making this destination a special one. One of the very few places on earth, here at Jawai, leopards are prayed and not preyed upon. It is considered as an incarnation of the Goddess, Ambe Mata as in its horizon both, divinity and the divine meet.

The Jawai dam, situated at the heart of this destination forms the lifeline of the place. Flanked by one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world-the Aravall, here, the Leopards have carved one of their safest havens providing a true visual treat to any of the visitors chasing their ‘Leopard dreams’.

This place also sees a variety of other wildlife. It includes a varied set of migratory birds along with the resident crocodiles that take refuge in the dam waters. Other than that, the elusive Hyenas and Jackals can also be chanced upon, luck permitting.

Jawai is open round the year for tourists, giving one an ample opportunity to see the transformation of this rugged landscape through the changing seasons.

Distinctive in its form, Jawai is the true land of dreams for Leopard Lovers.
